Pet Friendly Artificial Grass

Artificial grass has become the go to choice for many gardens across the UK over recent years. Its low maintenance, evergreen look and weatherproof qualities are just a few reasons why people are moving away from natural grass. However, at PetTurf, we saw that many artificial grass products on the market were unable to cope with pets. People were increasingly being left with gardens that absorbed pet waste and became breeding grounds for bacteria and nasty odours.

We therefore set out to find a solution for this recurring issue and developed PetTurf; a 100% pet friendly grass. Using Rapid Flow Technology, our grass is specially designed to allow pet waste drain efficiently. This helps to prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria and nasty odours.

Unlike cheaper, latex products available on the market, our grass is scientifically designed to withstand pet waste. Using anti-porous materials, the grass repels excess liquids, enhancing drainage.

To further enhance the lifespan of the grass, we use a sophisticated installation system. This provides the grass with a robust drainage system and a solid foundation.

4 Phase Install System

Step 1: Basework - Our team carry out a full excavation of every garden before the grass is installed. This helps to ensure that the surface is flat and completely free of any debris and rocks. Once the surface is clear, 2”x2” plastic battens are installed around the garden perimeter using concrete. The team then spread a layer of crushed rock and grano across the surface which provides a solid foundation.

Step 2: Rapid Flow Technology – The grass backing is then installed above the rock and grano. This consists of four separate layers which are designed to enhance drainage and boost the lifespan of the grass.

Step 3: Zeolite Infill – Zeolite Infill is then spread across the surface of the turf which acts as an added barrier against pet waste. The organic infill absorbs any excess liquid and prevents it from seeping into the turf. It also helps to ensure the grass stays upright and stops it from flattening under heavy footfall.

Step 4: Cleaning process – Once the grass and infill is installed, the team then use PetTurf Enzyme Cleaners to remove any organic waste. The cleaners also help to prevent the build up of any bad odours.

PetTurf Rapid Flow Technology

All of our artificial grass products benefit from Rapid Flow Technology which enhances drainage. The backing is specially designed to cope with pet waste and excess liquid, preventing the build-up of any nasty smells and bacteria. PetTurf Artificial Grass is also made using C blade technology which has a higher wear tolerance that other products on the market. Additionally, it ensures the grass remains upright in areas of heavy footfall to maintain that natural look. The grass is also hypoallergenic as it contains no lead or latex which can be harmful to dogs.

PetTurf Zeolite Infill

Infill is a key component if you want to keep your lawn clean and bacteria free. It also helps ensure your turf stays upright, maintaining that important natural look. PetTurf Zeolite infill is made entirely from organic and lead free materials, meaning it’s 100% safe for pets. The product is made using a honeycombed, porous structure which absorbs pet urine like a magnet. This prevents the build-up of toxins and bacteria which release harmful gases and nasty odours. Applied regularly, the infill will help you to maintain a pet friendly environment.

PetTurf Enzyme Cleaners

Our enzyme cleaners are scientifically manufactured to remove bacteria and nasty odours from the grass. Unlike household cleaners, this mixture contains enzymes which digest the harmful bacteria found in pet urine. By sinking into the grass sub base, the cleaners work through the backing, ensuring each layer is fully cleansed. PetTurf Enzyme Cleaners are 100% pet friendly, meaning no harmful chemicals will be left on your turf. Using the cleaner on a regular basis will ensure your artificial grass stays bacteria free.
